Cleaning Concrete Rust Stains
Removing rust from concrete isn’t that difficult to do. Simply adding lemon juice or vinegar to the effected concrete rust stain and let it sit. After around 10 to 15 minutes use a broom with thick bristles and scrub the rust off. Make sure to rinse the area down with a hose when you’re finished. These liquids work because they contain acid which will eat at the rust and break it away. If neither of these two solutions work you can buy rust cleaning products which are almost guaranteed. When buying a commercial product to remove rust spots, make sure it contains the following ingredient: oxalic acid. All three of these solutions have potential to kill any plants you apply it to, so keep that in mind when rinsing.

Rusty concrete driveways can be cleaned with pressure washers
The best way to prevent concrete from collecting rust is to pay attention to your surroundings. Obviously concrete doesn’t rust, so it’s coming from an alternative source. If you have patio furniture, yard art, or even metal flower pots, rust can be accumulating all around them. If you’re receiving large amounts of mysterious rust with no explanation it could be your water. If you get your water from a well and not the city, this is a common issue. Well water contains metals which often stain concrete and even the inside of your toilet bowls and sinks. This orange like color can be eliminated by having a more effective watering plan and not get any excess water on your driveway.
Video demonstrates how to remove rust from concrete with a commercial rust remover
This video shows a commercial rust remover called Rusterizer in action. All you have to do with Rusterizer is spray it on the concrete rust stain and let it sit for a little. The simple act of spraying it has enough pressure and de-rusting power that the rust comes almost completely off. Another good thing about this product is that it can be put in a pressure washer and easily blast off massive amounts of rust. The product is fully organic, so don’t worry about any nasty chemicals.
